My Journals—How Many is Too Many?

Hello Lovely.

I’ve been taking stock of my journaling lately, and it’s looking a lot different from how it used to be three years ago. I’ve been writing a whole lot more and doing less of the artsy-crafty part, which is totally fine. My documenting flows in phases, and this one has been all about the words.

But every so often, I’ve had the nagging pull to be more creative—to go back to my art journaling roots and even my scrapbooking roots. And the feeling would just nag and nag at me, but I haven’t been acting on it at all. I “try” but don’t actually follow through. And with all of the things I want to do swirling around in my head, I become so overwhelmed over all of the different journals I’m keeping (and trying to keep), that I fall stagnant and do not a damn thing.

I think I’m in that phase right now. I’ve been keeping up with my journals alright, but I have so many ideas for future journals that I want to get to right now, but I haven’t even started on any of them. Then when I take stock of it all, I get so overwhelmed! Journaling shouldn’t feel overwhelming lol. And I honestly just think it all boils down to the fact that I don’t have enough time to do all the things in my day—and I always want to do ALL THE THINGS!

Does anyone else get like this?

Anyway, here are my journals—some are in progress and some I’m just setting up to use for next year!

My Lovely Journal

So I’ve been keeping these little A6 handmade journals for a while, and this year I challenged myself to keep at least one going at all times. I don’t journal in these every day—I mostly use them to memory keep the big moments, as well as to use as junk journals for all the little life bits I collect. I sometimes make them in my Snippet Journal style and sometimes, I just make a simple fabric cover, like my current one here. I sometimes get a bit artsy in these journals and do a bit of art journaling in them, but mostly they’ve been a place to simply memory keep.

My Pocket Filofax

Simply put, this is my everyday planner. I used the weekly pages from my Cocoa Daisy Mini Daisy Dori insert to do a bit of memory keeping, mostly to help me remember what happened each day, for when I fall behind in My Lovely Journal, I have a reference to look back on. I do most of my planning, though, on my two-page monthly view. Everything else are lists and expense tracking.

My Soulscape Journal

I keep this journal now in an A6 Hobonichi Hon, and it’s a place for personal journaling that I almost never share online. I don’t decorate in this journal; it’s just straight writing. I journal with the moon phases and take astrology, tarot, law of attraction, and personal growth notes in here as well. I keep up with the monthly pages and use them to document all of the events and artist dates I go on. I used to use a B6 Paper Tess Designs planner, but switched to the A6 Hon for this year, and I’m glad I did. I have found that I’ve been able to keep up with the A6 size better than the B6, especially in those months when I fall completely off and don’t journal at all. The empty pages don’t look so bad!

I decided to get another A6 Hon for 2026 and kept with the pretty Liberty Fabrics covers. I like the idea of having a collection of these journals in a few years, lined up on my shelf, and them all matching in their beautiful Liberty Fabrics covers. The Hobonichi Techo layout has grown on me now that I’ve figured out how to use it and ignore all of the dates. I have my Hons in Hobonichi notebook covers—I just cut off the butterfly pen loops, cause I’m not a fan of them.

My Inner Child Tarot Journal

So I recently signed up for Susannah Conway’s Tarot For Your Inner Child class. I actually debated for quite a while about signing up. I debated even longer over purchasing this A6 Yumi Kitagishi Hobonichi cover. But in the end, I caved on both because why not? I don’t know anything about the tarot and thought this class would be a fun way to get to know the cards. I was also indulging my inner child in now having an excuse to buy that Yumi cover and a whole bunch of cutesy stickers and washi tapes. I’m not using the Hobonichi Techo that came with the cover, but an A6 High Quality Muji notebook. I have it in a Muji clear cover so that I could have this fun Yuni Kitagishi postcard on the front cover.

I’m using this journal to create my inner child tarot guide book, which Susannah shares how to keep in class. Each day, I pull a new tarot card and document what it means from my inner child’s perspective. I’ve just begun doing the practice, so I don’t know how I feel about it yet, but it’s been fun so far!

My New Joy Journal

So, I won this on Ebay a couple of months ago and bought it with no idea of how I was going to use it. It’s the Yumi Kitagishi Wallpaper Hobonichi Weeks from 2025. I honestly think this is the prettiest Yumi design ever, and glad I got it even though I didn’t know how I would use it for a while. But I think I’m going to use it as a Joy Journal for 2026. It’s a bit smaller and more compact than my previous Joy Journal I attempted in a B6 Katie Daisy planner. I’m just planning to redate it using the Calendar Weeks Sticker kit from Cocoa Daisy and the days of the week stickers I get in my Cocoa Daisy Stationery kits. I don’t know, I just really want to play in this one. I have never used a Hobonichi Weeks before, so I’m excited to begin! I’ll let you know how it goes.

Those are just some of my journals that I’m using and will be using soon. And honestly, I can’t wait to start the new ones. And there are so many others I still want to make! I’m a mess.

xx Tiffany

I’m keeping an Unraveling Journal this year! I h I’m keeping an Unraveling Journal this year!

I haven’t successfully kept one since 2023 and I really do miss my unfurling process. I’m also going to try to document my One Little Word journey in here.

I’ve wanted to make another @amitybloom style journal for such a long time and was studying Nazy’s beautiful layered journals to see if I could make one of my own. It’s almost like she knew what I was up to because at the ending of the year, she offered her Hanky Diaries course, where she teaches the exact layered covers I had been studying! Signing up for her class gave me that push to finally make mine. The timing was perfect!

So this journal is my take and I’ve got a full walkthrough of it up on my YouTube channel. The cover is so tactile with lots of layers of fabric and paper. I absolutely love it. It just so me.

Highly recommend Nazy’s class, as well as her Artist in Bloom class, as I drew inspiration from that one too. xx

I’ve got a new YouTube video up, going through my I’ve got a new YouTube video up, going through my 2025 journals and sharing what’s lined up for 2026. I’ll be using lots of the same types of journals, just the next versions of them. These are my main journals:

✩ Pocket Filofax - my monthly/weekly planner
✩ Hobonichi Weeks - my joy journal
✩ A6 Hobonichi Hon - my soulscape journal
✩ A6 handmade fabric journal - my lovely journal (art/junk/scrapbook memory keep hybrid)
✩ B6-ish handmade journal - my unraveling journal (and OLW)

Though, now that I have this video up, I’m thinking about adding at least one other journal—a small art journal. So, I might have to film an update lol. But I hope you enjoy if you watch.

What’s in your lineup? xx
