Who We Are

We at Tiffany Julia share this Privacy Policy with you as a user or viewer of www.tiffanyjulia.com. We want to be transparent on how we collect and use the information you share with us. We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy without notice. By using or viewing www.tiffanyjulia.com and its subdomains, you agree to this policy.

What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Community Forums
When creating an account on our site, users have access to the community discussion forums. Any and all information users share with other users within the forums stay live on the forums until the event when the user either deletes their own posts or request their posts to be deleted by an administrator. Users have the ability to edit their user profile and add/delete any and all information they wish to share.

Contact forms
When using our contact forms, you may be asked to enter the following: name, email address, and website. We use this information strictly to respond to any inquires sent via our contact form. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Ecourses and Memberships
When signing up to one of our ecourses or memberships, you may be asked to enter the following: name, email address, mailing address, phone number, website, or other details pertaining to order. We use this information to process your enrollment into our ecourse(s) or membership(s) and to periodically send you emails regarding said ecourse(s) or membership(s) to keep you updated on any news/changes. Our ecourse(s) or membership(s) emails are handled through a third-party service, Mailchimp. You can view their privacy policy here.

You reserve the right to opt-out of receiving future emails from us. If you wish to do so, simply follow the instructions located at the bottom of each email. We will remove you from all correspondence and you will no longer receive updates on any of the courses you signed up to.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. We currently embed media from Youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, Apple Music, Spotify and 8tracks.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Currently, we also use Google Fonts and Google Maps widget, both from Google Inc, to display fonts and maps on our website. Both collect usage data, cookies, and other types of data as specified in the privacy policy of the service. You can view Google’s privacy policy here.

Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Newsletter
When signing up for our newsletter, you may be asked to enter the following: name and email address. We use this information to periodically send you emails (via our newsletter) regarding general news and/or updates.

You reserve the right to opt-out of receiving future emails from us. If you wish to do so, simply follow the instructions located at the bottom of each email. We will remove you from all correspondence and you will no longer receive updates on general news.

Courses Shop
When ordering from our shop, you may be asked to enter the following: name, email address, mailing address, phone number, website, or other details pertaining to the order. We use this information to process your order(s) efficiently and/or send emails regarding your order(s).

Please note, we do not collect nor store personal credit card information. All of our order payments are processed through a third-party processor, PayPal and/or Stripe. Please refer to PayPal’s privacy policy here and Stripe’s privacy policy here for more information on how they manage your information.

Analytics

The services contained in this section enable the Owner to monitor and analyze web traffic and can be used to keep track of User behavior.

We currently use Google Analytics, which collects cookies and usage data, to analyze the web traffic of our website. Google utilizes the data collected to track and examine the use of this application, prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

This was the week U2 dropped their first surprise This was the week U2 dropped their first surprise EP of the year. I listened to Days of Ash on repeat and had to document it in my Hobonichi Weeks because it affected me (and I love it) so much. It even got me ranting on about the state of our world on the internet, which is something I don't normally do. But it's a mess; we're a mess. "We" as a civilization, I mean. "It" as in the World. The songs on this particular album had me feeling all the things—sadness, anger, despair, and light, love, hope. It’s a shame that all of these feeling are true at the same time. I can never understand how we can all call ourselves human when we’ve collectively lost our humanity. (I’m generalizing here, but the last couple of years have felt like a global extinction of humanity.) “There is no us, if there is no them.” What makes humankind so beautiful is our differences and I can never understand how most can’t see we’re all the same in that. There's so much division and one too many sides. We all live in the inbetween, in the gray space, the "And Space" whether we want to admit it or not. Whatever you believe in, I don’t care which side you’re on. What’s happening in Palestine, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, Iran...is wrong. What’s happening in the US is more of the same. Wrong, wrong, wrong. There’s no taking sides here. It’s all wrong no matter which coin you flip. All sides can be right, but all sides are wrong too—and that’s what people get stuck on. But when it’s innocent human lives being taken in the guise of faith, whatever faith…Fuck politics. This is all a morality war. And we need to stop being so mean to each other and learn compassion. At the end of the day, most of us want the same things anyway. There shouldn’t be an “other.” No one is above or beneath you. Books 3/10: Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Ro Books 3/10: Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩ I've been on a reading kick lately and have been picking up books about books. This was a very nice read after The Starless Sea. I really do like stories about unique secret libraries that hold various meanings of life. Mr. Penumbra was a nice modern take on that.
