End of the Year Rituals ✩ Postcard 02

Hello Lovely.

Happy Solstice! I hope all is well with you.

It’s that time of year again, when I gather all of the journals—all of my words and experiences—I kept this year and distill them into answers. What happened this year? What came up for me? How did it make me feel? What And Spaces did I pass through? What did I learn? What have I had to let go of? What do I feel I need more of going forward?

If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know that I ritually fill out Susannah Conway’s Unravel Your Year and Find Your Word workbooks every year to prepare myself for the next. This year is no different. In fact, this will be my 12th year filling them out! Honestly, that’s the longest I’ve ever dedicated to a single project. I’m quite proud of myself.

But to be fair, I use these workbooks to help me plan my year ahead. Filing them out often helps me unravel some themes and patterns that have continually shown up for me throughout my year. These are the themes I usually focus on in the new year, and the word I choose often encompasses that.

For example, my theme for 2025 was Letting Go. This time last year, I was deeply drawn to the word Release. I ended up with the word Flow, but I did explore the And Space between Holding On and Letting Go, simply because it kept coming up for me in 2024. I really needed to learn how to let go. And while I feel like I’ve shed some of my control freak tendencies, I also feel like I need to continue practicing the art of letting go and going with the flow, And that’s okay. We don’t have to be completely done with our words or themes that we have chosen for any given year. I mean, when I chose the word Heart back in 2023, I brought it into 2024 with me as the phrase Have courage, dear heart, emphasis on the word Courage.

As of writing this, I actually haven’t had the chance to sit down with my journals and work through my workbooks. But I will in the coming days. So, I don’t have very much insight into what I intend for 2026. To be honest, I don’t really have any plans at all, and it feels a bit weird not have any heading yet. What I do know is that the And Space between Presence and Hindsight was a theme that came up for me this year, which I’d like to explore more of in 2026. Particularly, the act of being present in any given moment and actually knowing how I feel.

I’ve realized that I often have trouble feeling my feelings in the moment—and what I mean by “my feelings” is those positive feelings of happiness, joy, contentment. I’m very good at being attuned to my negative emotions. I sit in the mud with those. But the more positive ones? They are a bit foreign to me, and I think I need to learn how to recognize them again and allow myself to feel them. I’ve been thinking a lot about the word Attuned. I think I want mindfulness and being present to be my theme for next year, but I don’t necessarily feel pulled to those words. Attuned holds emotion, and I think that’s what I really lack whenever I try being present.

We’ll see how it goes. I’m planning to carve out some time today and tomorrow for my ritual, and the solstice is quite a perfect time for this sort of thing. It’s the Winter Solstice where I’m at, and while it marks the shortest day of the year, it’s also happens to be a great time for reflection.

Have you decided on a word or theme for 2026 yet?

If not, today may be the perfect day to reflect and set some intentions.

xxx Tiffany

Just Inspiring

sharing a few of my favorite things

“One of the healthiest things a woman can do for her mental health is protect her whimsy. Not her productivity, not her image — her whimsy. The soft belief that life can still surprise her. That there are angels, luck, alignment, whatever she chooses to call it, quietly working in her favor. The world keeps trying to harden women. Tells them to be realistic, grounded, unbothered. But there’s nothing weak about staying enchanted. It takes strength to still believe in good things after you’ve seen how cruel life can be. Protect your whimsy. Water your delusion. Keep the sparkle, the romance, the childlike wonder. It’s not denial — it’s resistance. In a world that profits off women being tired and cynical, staying hopeful is its own quiet rebellion.”

— Unknown

My boyfriend told me that my personal aesthetic—the way I dress, how I decorate my home, how I go about my life—was, in some ways, an act of rebellion. I initially thought that was a weird take. Then a few weeks later, this post with the quote above made its rounds on Instagram, and just like that, I understood. Protect your whimsy. Honestly, life would be so boring without it.

✩ To Read: I’ve been reading a lot of art books lately because I’d really love to create my own, but I’m not really sure how I want to begin. Some of my favorites that I’ve read so far are:

⋆⋆⋆ Cartwheel in the Quiet: A Tapestry of Things Found + Felt by Emily Looman
⋆⋆⋆ Spilling Open: The Art of Becoming Yourself by Sabrina Ward Harrison

✩ To Watch: I’ve been watching Stranger Things, which is totally not on brand for me, but I’ve been enjoying it so much. I do want to recommend two documentaries that are truly inspiring:

⋆⋆⋆ Come See Me In The Good Light
⋆⋆⋆ Selena y Los Dinos: A Family’s Legacy

✩ To Listen To: Mature by Hilary Duff on repeat.

✩ To Discover: It’s that time of year again! Time to fill out Susannah Conway’s Unravel Your Year and Find Your Word workbooks, which you can find here, and consider your One Little Word for the year.

✩ Things to Explore This Season:  journaling in cozy cafes, Hallmark Channel movies, reading by the fireplace, baking cookies, setting intentions, One Little Word, creating a vision board, nesting…

Journaling Prompt

questions to ponder to jumpstart your journaling

For me personally, this is always a time of reflection and setting intentions. I always end up with some new personal skills from some very hard lessons that I had to learn throughout the year. At the same time, I usually uncover some patterns or themes that keep showing up for me. Those themes usually result in what I end up exploring in the new year. Now you don’t have to set any lofty goals or anything if you don’t want to, but I’d like you to take a moment and reflect back on the year you just had. What came up for you?

Ask yourself: What lessons did 2025 teach me? How did those lessons help me grow or develop as a person?

Did any patterns or themes show up for you? What may be some things you would like to work on for next year? Or what are some healthy actions you want to take with you into 2026?

I totally forgot I created this creative self portrait! I'm sure I shared a version of this back in 2020, but this one looks like a new edit I must have done sometime after that and the colors are so pretty! I just felt like resharing it today. Happy Sunday, lovelies. xx
